A Better Way for European trading
The global financial services firm Societe Generale has joined Spectrum Markets as a new issuer of securitised derivatives to be offered in Spain, Sweden, Finland and Norway. Issuing its products on Spectrum Markets and making them available during extended trading hours will enable Societe Generale to reach more retail investors in those countries through the expanding network of European financial services firms that are members of the venue. Societe Generale will initially issue a series of products on Spectrum Markets that will broaden the universe of financial instruments available to investors in Spain and the Nordic countries.

In addition to being able to choose from vanilla warrants on wider range of underlyings, Spanish and Nordic investors will now enjoy the opportunity to invest in daily constant leverage products available on Spectrum Markets (also known as Multi Warrants in Spain and as Bull and Bear Certificates in the Nordics). Like turbo warrants, daily constant leverage products aim to gain leveraged exposure to the value fluctuations of the relevant underlying. In contrast to turbos, however, they have no knock-out barrier and they offer a leveraged exposure to the daily performance of a selected underlying with a leverage remaining at a constant level during the day. Daily constant leverage products are designed to be traded intraday or over a very short period of time.
Spectrum Markets has witnessed growing trading volumes consistently since launch. We have scaled up our flexible infrastructure to handle the several thousand new instruments that Societe Generale aims to list on the venue, based on client demand, and to enable continued growth in the volume of order flow and quote data.
By offering retail investors in Spain and the Nordic countries more options on the type and duration of investments, Societe Generale’s membership marks a significant next step for Spectrum Markets’ strategy of hosting a focused suite of products linked to the most actively traded underlyings.
